First Blog

So this is my First Blog and I'm not entirely sure how to start it off. I will be writing these based on Events that happen over the weeks and on books I've read or thoughts Ive had. My main reason to right this is to help Get thoughts out of my head and to keep in communications with others. I tried Writing a Journal but it was to one-sided. I have just recently started the next chapter in my life God called me to Brooklyn to work with inner city youth. This is going to be such a blessing but a Challenge as well. I'm working under three Godly pastors and I'm learning a lot each day.I feel privileged to be able to learn from and work with such men of God. This is my First time ever Blogging so if I'm doing something wrong let me know and I'll try to Do it better next time. Right now i live at the Church. Its called New Baptist Temple on 360 Schermerhorn st in Brooklyn ny. i put the address just so you guys could see the Strange street name i had the hardest time cause i would get lost and then ask people for directions but i couldn't pronounce the name right so no one knew what I was talking about. I have to say two weeks out here and i'm finally figure out how to say it. I've been reading lot of books lately. An old proverb says "The wise learn from other people's mistakes and fools from their own." I'm far from wise but i hang out with some smart guys and they shared this with me. So I've been talking with local Youth pastors and youth Workers getting advice from them, learning from the mistakes they have made. Trying to learn as much as i can so i can be the best possible tool for Christ. I've enjoyed reading so far a lot of people have some really good ideas some are just kinda fruity. I've read books from Doug fields, Mark Devries, Rick Warren, Efrem Smith,Gary Chapman. and a bunch of Articles that I've found online. A bunch of these books and articles for success in youth ministries have alot of the same values and principles for a health youth group. so with that and alot of Pray i've been developing my own Game plan. I've been having butterflys in my stomach since i've been out here. at first i thought i was getting sick but i think its God keeping relying on Him. i pray that the butterflys stay, that they may be my thorn. that keeps me humble. its like 3ish in the morning i think i'm heading off to bed now.
